Explaining 4th of July to James

James asked me what the 4th of July was about.

I told him way back when there were no people here in America. Then some people called Indian who kind of looked like your Mommy came up from Asia and crossed an icebridge far up in the North and came down. Then some people who kind of looked like your Daddy came on boats across the and killed them with small pox infested blankets. Then these newcomers went to another place and got a bunch of other people called slaves to come here and forced them to work for them. Then on the 4th of July these people with the slaves who killed the Indians asserted their God given inalienable right to life, liberty and property, and that is the birthday of the United States, your country.

Is this is a proper history lesson?
